The Division of Medical
Imaging Physics was established in July 2002 with the recruitment
of Benjamin M. W. Tsui, Ph.D. and his 14 associates (2 faculty,
Eric C. Frey, Ph.D. and W. Paul Segars, Ph.D., 2 Research
Associates, 9 Research Assistants and an Administrative Assistant)

with the X-ray Imaging Laboratory headed by Thomas Beck, Sc.D.,
the new Division consolidates the non-MRI medical imaging
physics programs within the Department of Radiology. In 2005,
Katsuyuki Taguchi, Ph.D., an expert in x-ray CT, was
recruited from Toshiba Medical Systems to join the Division
as a Faculty member.
